Keep Calm and Make a Plan
The best way to make it through this difficult time is with information, not panic. We encourage everyone to get the facts about the COVID-19 virus from the Centers For Disease Control (CDC) for the most recent updates effective strategies for minimizing the risk of exposure, and what to do if you experience symptoms. Once you have addressed your risk of exposure, you may wish to create a road map for the future by evaluating your estate plan. If you have not already done so, please consider using this time to prepare a power of attorney, will, health care directive, or other appropriate document.
As the news about coronavirus becomes increasingly scary and stressful, many of us are looking for ways to protect ourselves and our loved ones. We all need to feel we have some control as things get more chaotic and uncontrollable.
So, take control of the things you can, now. I am not a medical professional so I will not offer advice on how to protect your physical selves. But, as a Maryland estate planning lawyer with over 30 years of experience, I can tell you that clients feel safer, calmer and more in control when they put an estate plan in place.
At this time I am reducing my rates for preparing these essentials documents, so feel free to contact me for a free consultation.
